Lightbulb Pics of my DIY Transmission Brace

I made a transmission brace and thought I would share some pics. Thanks to this DIY Transmission Brace topic here.

I made a cardboard template, then made a template from a thinner piece of steel, then made the final brace with 3/16" steel, this way when I made the final product I wouldn't have to open up the bolt holes too much or have any fitment issues. It came out perfect, nice tight fit. I carefully made it so that it would fit tight around the bolts and not have too much wiggle room. The red paint is drying so tomorrow I can get a pic of the final product installed, and see how it feels driving the car.

I already have solid motor mounts, diff. mounts and a rear diff. brace, so I don't expect a big difference with this, but any little difference and improved shifter accuracy would be nice. And I like projects and fabrication for this car. It weighs just 2 lbs.

you would be better off making it mount to both sides of the tunnel versus just the one side... allows the transmission to still flex and move the way you have it

Banzai makes and sells a tranny brace and I read on here they said they tested both setups and it does not make a difference and it can get in the way of the exhaust on the other side so they just make it for the left side as I did. And with this you still retain the tunnel brace that goes over to the other side, it's just not shown in my pics

Installed pic attached. I had to go to my dads house and use his torch to heat it up and make the bends, and spent alot of time on making the templates and brace, if I had to make another one it would be easy. But you can buy them from http://banzai-racing.com/store/FD_trans_brace.html or make your own. I could give measurements from my template.
