Yeah the car runs noticable cooler. I've noticed a couple degree drop in coolant on normal cruising conditions. The biggest difference is noticed in stop and go traffic, the temps barely raise any if at all. Combined with my fluidyne radiator and haltech wired up to keep the fans on always, it stays around 180-185 for normal driving. I have yet to do any hard driving test.

I have the mazdaspeed...yours is definitely more squared off looking and the vents are bit deeper. Like an idiot I had my vents blocked off. I was affraid of rain. Sorry but I think I'd have to say I like the looks of the mazdaspeeds a little more. Your is very nice though and you saved a good chunk of $.

I agree, the mazdaspeed looks pretty good with the way it flares up around the vents. Is there any way you could have your vents cut back out? Maybe even cut them bigger?

Hey 94, a bit off topic here, but what's your single turbo setup? Psi, power, ecu, etc.

Looks nice. Do you know of any locking hood pins that would work for the faspac hood? I may need some soon.

Heres my mod list. I made 365rwhp and 352rwtq @16psi on the dyno. I will be upgrading to a bigger turbo eventually along with a bunch of other goodies

Cetchup, the guy I bought the hood from gave me the locking hood pins. I'm not sure who makes them, my cousin said he's seen locking pins in magazines before and they cost about $35. I can ask him and see if he remembers where he saw them.

Cool! That would suck to get your hood stolen because of some faulty pins, so they are pretty important to me. =)

What I/C do you have??? I wonder if it will fit with an M2 Med SMIC? My M2 ic is a very tight fit, and I'm wondering if the vents will hit the smic.

Thanks,
John

In my quest for lower temps and I think those hoods (and the Mazdaspeed) look great, this is something I may be doing soon.

Is water pouring down those big openings going to cause problems during a rain??

Thanks

jpandes,

I don't believe Faspac makes that hood any more for the FD.
