Thanks thats just what I was looking for. I just took out my rear bose speakers, carpeting and insulation (no spare with the car when I bought it), jack and tools, and driver's seat. Already have lightweight driveshaft, battery, and flywheel. I'm debating about removing the rear bins as well. I don't suppose you know the bins' total weight? I think I heard 15lbs somewhere before?

Hellspawn,

My bins are currently removed as I am relocating my battery, but I have not weighed them. I have some other commitments tomorrow and Tuesday, so I cannot work on my car, but I will be working on it on Wednesday. I will try to get a weight on Wednesday (no promises).

I see that you are really looking to lighten your car. With that being said, have you removed your air conditioning system? Seems like that is where it is determined if people are serious about shaving weight...Personally, I couldn't imagine not having the ac, especially in New Orleans in the summer.

best of luck,

Charlie

The ugliness and lack of storage are worse than the 3-4 lbs. you'd save (if that). The car doesn't deserve to look cheap unless you're building a track-only car, and in that case, remove all the interior and be done with it.

Eventually when this is my track only car, yeah the ac will be gone, but for now it is my compromise track/street car, and it gets pretty warm here in so cal too so the AC will stay for now

Yeah that's what I'm starting to think as well, definitely looks better with em in. Bins will stay till it's track dedicated.

hey hellspawn do you still have your bose system? if so would you be willing to part with it? I personally wouldn't mind having the bose system as long as i could find one that was working right heh
