Damn scoot hoods are ugly. It makes the FD look like a fish or a shark (not in a good way). Im not saying any of the cars are ugly. This is just my opinion though so no need to get hot and bothered.

That is what i figured

I personally think it looks great, but won't do so well with my m2 smic. I guess I would have to go front mount.

im not a big fan of the scoot hood to begin with, but if you get it in carbon fiber, paint the hood. it looks much better when it matches the color of the car. 'it might just be me, but i think the unpainted carbon fiber hood on a non-black car looks too ricer boy for me. that's just my opinion though. if you do leave it unpainted, i would suggest the carbon fiber hatch to tie the look up and black rims and a front spoiler. i normally dont like the look, but i must say that picture of the VR FD autocrossing looks really good. so maybe it might work? to each their own.

before i get called out for it, i have an unpainted cf n1 hood, but my car is brilliant black, so i just re-cleared it and put it on, since it doesnt look that out of place.

I didn't think you can paint carbon fiber. Well, I've heard of cherry coating or something like that. I could be wrong.

Sure you can. Just about all the pro race cars are CF bodies as well and they are all painted. However, depending on how the CF is made, it can be more prep work to paint verse FG.

you may want to check out seibon's scoot style hood. The vents are much less agressive but still resembles a scoot hood.

I am a big fan of the SCOOT hood. The openings are large and the hood is very functional when it comes to venting the hot air (which you can most certantly see when sitting in traffic). In addition, with the rain tray out, you get fresh, cold air coming in the center vent right into the intake. Here are some pics of it on my FD. Note how large the openings really are from the underside of the hood

Ande where are u going to get one

Envy it, I've been looking for a Seiban hood for about 7 months I've already have posted two threads and even some reward money to find me a used one and nothing. I've dealt with every manufacture that does this style of hood and the only company that has it is extreme dimensions i think it;s called but they have changed the type of weave a more thicker kind. Not my likening. Seibon the last time i heard from them don't have the carbon-fiber plus to let u know. Ebay and other supplies of this hood don't mention that;s it not in stock and take ur money for months until u realize or they inform u that they don;t have it. Well good luck finding one if you do let me know. And don't pay unless it's in stock.

Good luck,.

Dude,

My hood was a special order since there was none in stock. It takes Seibon about five weeks to deliver. At least that was the case for me. What you need to do is just make a deposit so they can start making it. They seem to be building Rx7 hoods per order not by bulk.

Besides if they take too long get your money back. Hence no harm done.

I had to wait a couple months to get a seibon hood but the fitment is pretty good so I guess I'm pretty happy. I was going to paint the hood but the carbon fiber blends pretty well with the color of my car.
