picking a cat-back need some advice...
looking for a cat back exhaust. i am also putting on a dp, md. i want to keep it as quiet as possible. i like the look of the blitz but will that be to loud? will a resonated midpipe make a difference on that exhaust? i know the RB is quieter but it doesnt have the look i am going for. if it that much quiter though i will go with RB. also is there any sound difference in the RB single tip and dual tip????

There were some good threads that spoke to the type of resonated midpipes that were tollerable. Search for user rynberg, I think he's the member that went midpipe. (or maybe sleepr1)
It will be loud with a midpipe, no doubt about that. I believe the RB dual and single are similar in noise. If you want quiet go with the RB and a HF cat.
Look starting on page 6 of this thread:https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...5&pagenumber=6
If you have time to read this thread you will learn a bunch. Hope that helps.

I have a resonated midpipe (magnaflow muffler) and the old-style Greddy PE exhaust. My friend tested the sound (2 feet away, on the driveway) and it came out to be 85 decibels

i am mostly likely going to go with the RB single tip and a high flo cat. to keep noise down... another thing i am looking into is an ecu, either goin m2 or pettit. any pros or cons from one to the other??? by the way anyone have a sound clip of a RB single tip?? i herd they make a raspy sound just wondering what that would sound like.

Oh yeah, it will stink too!!

Jesuscookies, my measurement of 85 db was @ 4k rpm.... is that what you mean by "C weighting"?
My buddy didn't have a chance to test any other rpms, cuz he was on the verge of dying from the fumes.
I used to have a hi-flow cat, and based on my blitz boost controller efforts, a resonated mp is a HUGE leap over a hi-flow cat, (3in. vs 3in.) while being quieter...

I measured mine, with the Radio Shack, analog tester. It allows you to flip a switch to test in A weight or C weight. Another forum member (I think Rynberg) explained in one of his posts what the weighting means. As I understand it, the C weighting is the equivilent of the car being under load. Maybe someone, who knows better what it means for sure, can chime in here and explain?
All of my measurments in that post where at idle from 2 feet away at a 45degree angle. You have to have the angle, for proper measurement. a 10Db gain on your car at 4K sounds reasonable. Also, remember that I have a single turbo in my car, so it may not be apples to apples to compare the 2.
I think the Midpipe is a good compromise. You do not lose any noticeable power, and it is quiet enough to fly under the radar, so to speak
