Anyone have the english instructions to the KS V Mount?

chemicool 10-21-07 10:50 AM

Is it possible to evacuate the AC oneself into a cylinder or does one have to take the car to an A/C shop? Still need English instructions. Thanks

swif 10-21-07 11:22 AM

Send bdagosti a pm. He had sent me some instructions that helped out. Were did you get the kit from? Hopefully you got a good price. I sent you a pm as well. check the pics and they may help you out as well.

I have sent him two PMs but i think he is online very infrequently. If you have some instructions please forward to me. I bought straight from KS. A guy named Takeshi. Nice guy, broken English, good discount. If you have instructions email drugstorecowboy@att.net

Dang, this os over a year old. Somebody update this please!

...what is all included with the kit? What is missing? Sound slike the poster still did fabrication and had trouble with the A/C. Has this been resolved?

swif 12-21-08 09:53 PM

I have not fixedthe a/c yet, but it is not to big of a deal.

I also have started back up on the car with the turbo kit I got from a-spec about a year ago.

I have heat wraped the manifold today and also came accross a few issues with the kit.

1. The mounting sureface for the turbo to the manifold the holes are not a 100% lining up. I have to open up the holes to have the turbo slie on the manifold.

2. Trying to install manifold to block in car it looks like I have to remove the studs from the block to get the manifold in place.

I am hoping to mount the manifold on Monday night and get the exhaust mounted back up.

I have the manifold on the car with the turbo mocked up on the manifold. I also have the waste gate mocked on the manifold. Here are the pictures.

As you can see I will need to lower my v-mount as well as move the heater hose and a/c line. I have the longer runner header with the turbo kit. I thought this would be a plug and play, but as you can see I will need to do some other things.

This is kinda reviving an old thread but I wanted to add some info for those using this kit and trying to hook up A/C. I ended up buying a universal condensor from EBAY that is a little taller and perfect width for the area. Almost like it was made for the kit. It was only like 80 bucks. I am in the process of putting it in this week. I am hoping with a little bit larger condensor I will get colder air. I'll keep you updated.

How did you install the factory condensor? is the lowside inlet on top near the hood of the car, or is it located faving the floor. The location this will have a great effect on the cooling of the system.

With this said I would think that by having a big area for the heat to be displaced would also help in heat exchange rate and alow for cooler air.

Deffinitly lets know what happens.

As far as my car I just received my Twin Power and my Xcess LIM. I need to take is and get the ceramic coated and buy my injectors, plugs, Data logit, heat wrap, extend my a/c hose, and extend my heater hose from the t-stat. After this I can get the car up and running.

This economy is a muther!

Do you guys know how much power can be run through this intercooler? (i was thinking 500 max? And what are your air temps/water temps. I just bought the kit in japan :). used though, screaming deal :)

Sorry I never got back to this thread. I did not install the factory condensor. I bought a universal one from Ebay for like 80 bucks. Is bigger than factory and my A/C is cold as hell. However, I am having a problem now with intake temps being sky high. Not because of the condensor. My radiator temp NEVER goes above 90C/ even when it is over 100F outside and even after several dyno pulls. Very nice radiator setup. My problem is that when the fan kicks on it pulls air from engine bay down through intercooler. So I have to make a splitter.

Let us know how the splitter works. Is the temp problem only on the dyno and when at a stop?

I would think when ou are driving that these would not be such a big issue. I was also thinking of this being a problem.

I am still working on my car. got a few ideas from sevenstock and also ran into having to fix my turbo thunderbird problem to sell the car. So once again the 7 has to take a back seat.
What kind of power are you seeing increased from the set up?

chemicool 10-24-09 06:55 PM

Still haven't done the splitter. I get fed up with the car once in awhile and leave it sitting. Looking at going V8 soon. The cooling problem is worse at a stop. To be honest it wouldn't be a problem if I had a vented hood with ducting for the v mount. Then the air the fans sucked back in at a stop would still be ambient and would cool it at idle. Another problem with the setup is that the hot air the fans pull in from the engine bay heat up the condensor which causes the compressor to cycle off and on a lot. A splitter and or vented hood with ducting to the v mount are necessary. I had it dynoed and only got 328 rwhp with 99 twins and large porting. But I had a vacuum/ boost leak at the time. The tuner said my setup should have made more but he didn't know I didn't. Maybe the aforementioned leak.

Back on track and working on the car again after a few years. Been to long hope to be down in a few months.

Have exhaust temp probes installed, manifold installed, turbo installed and bolted down, waste gate, and down pipe installed.

Need to wrap mid pipe, port lower and upper intake manifold, ceramic coat intake manifolds, and then its time to move forward again.
