Picked up a '94 Montego blue 5speed today

5K.

this car is trashed.

120k on orignal motor....lots of different colors of smoke come out the tail pipe.

needs to be repainted....passenger side mirror is missing.

some mille milgna 18" wheels....look pretty crappy.

RE Amemiya Flush headlights

RE Amemiya Intake Filter thingy (it's blue)

Tien HA's

Apexi 3" exhaust

3" downpipe

Mazdaspeed (maybe?) short shifter

Rotary performance Ignition System

Cusco front and rear strut tower braces

Random sway bars. (i dunno who makes em....but they aren't stock)

Sony CD player

Dented up front bumper.

i'll post pics of it later.....

basically i'm gonna throw it into the body shop and have the hole thing painted the original color, montego blue. and since the front bumper is crappy, i'll have to put a different one on there...i like the Efini(sp?) front end with the clear turn signal thingys...so i might put the cwest one on there cause it looks similar and costs less. and then i'll have to put a mirror on it. and then the engine.....yea....not sure on that...i guess the old standby, a rebuilt one with 3mm apex seals. prolly need new turbos...so might go single or put the Efini one's on there.

so it's in bad condition...but i have about 10k to drop on it...at least everything that is done to it will be done the way i want it...almost from the ground up.

oh, and when i post the pics, the wheel will be for sale if anyone wants them or knows someone who does....for a different car. they look HUGE on this car.

I think it's hilarious when people keep modding a car that's going to ****. GL bringing this one back to life .

yea really...why don't people save up a little bit of money..like the 1000$ you threw into those headlights and buy a rebuilt engine...or have the dying one rebuilt.

congrats on the car! Looks like some work to do though. Do you know how the compression is on the engine? At 120 and smoke...you might want to get the engine done before the exterior.

Listen to the people here when they say DO THE ENGINE FIRST!!! Take it out, rebuild or buy a reman. While out clean the engine bay interior to make it sparkle the best you can, that way it won't stick out as bad when you go to paint the exterior. Once that is done you at least havea driveable car to rely on.

Oh, and $10k...LOL....yeah, that might get you your engine work and a single turbo, and possibly a front end. If you are doing all the engine work yourself then maybe you can fit the repaint in.

even in the condition that it's in, looks like you got a good buy for $5000 ... and yes I think you should do the engine first before body work but that's just my thoughts as you seem to know what you're doing. Good luck and keep us updated!

Good luck with the giant project you got there. I'd say focus more on the engine and get it running than focusing on the interior. Atleast, thats my opinion.

yea, i think all of you are right about tackeling the engine first. That is what i will do.

I will sell the tan interior to whoever wants it. I already ordered black carpet, and i'm gonna put some aftermarket seates in it....black ones.

i think i lucked out on those headlights and some of the mods it has...for sure.

on the motor idea, i may order one thats dead an attempt a rebuild myself.

p.s. those wheels are for sale, i'm looking for some stock ones.
