The bumper isn't sagging, there's just an extraordinarly large gap at the front of the hood, which I'd expect from a knock-off part. And I'm going to have to agree with JoeD... that hood looks like freeze dried ***, especially on an otherwise stock appearing car.

RX7 RAGE, if you don't like my opinion, that's fine. You posted the pictures to show off, and you have to expect that some of the comments you'll get aren't going to be positive. That's life. If you have such thin skin that you can't deal with some criticism, then you probably shouldn't post at all.

Answer!!! About gap

Guys that hood fits great. That is a scoot replica hood that chuck (Rotary Extreme) is doing for some of the guys(including my CF version) in the forum as a group buy. Their is a gap in the front because their is no latch yet for the hood. You could see in the second pic that the latch is missing, it is not finished yet. This hood fits better than the original Hood that cost like 2000+ big ones. The gap will be non-existant when the latch is added and Hood completed. By the way Rx7 Rage, The Car looks great with the hood......post pics when finished getting it painted.

Jimlab, the reason for the gap is because there is no hood latch yet.

Well hopefully a hood latch will pull the hood closer to the bumper and eliminate the gap, but you'll forgive me if I'm a little skeptical.

I like the hood. Although like many of you stated here it does not go very well on a stock bodied car. I think you really need full body kit to make it work, since its such a wild and agressive hood. As far as copies are concern, I have had both real kits and copies on my car and I can tell you real kits arent always as good as you think, most of the time they are made with very thin amounts of fiberglass to save weight and can crack very easily. Depending who manafactures the copies, they can be even better then the real thing.

Nice hood. I think Chuck did a very well job correcting the fitment from the original. I like both the scoot and the mazdaspeed hoods. Here's a nice one!

Man i wish my Mazdaspeed CF replica looked like the one on the yellow car. Mine looks like "freeze dried ***" as stated so perfectly before. It has pits and waves and the line around the passenger light has to be trimmed ALOT to fit my RE lights. It's going to be painted now anyway so i guess it really doesn't matter too much.....oh and the framing is breaking off from the main body underneath and the latch is also breaking apart.

Other than that i'm really satisfied with the "knockoff" hood that i purchased

So basically since there is no latch and only hood pins for this replica...there is no lock on the hood.

Basically if you go down to 7-11 someone can just open up your hood when you are not there.

I agree everyone has a right to have an opinion, but JoeD chill out for once on the "Knock-off needs to be at the title of this thread!" You're like a god damn **** when it comes to that ****. What kinda hood can you afford to buy for your rx7?? Hell or even what kind of hood have you bought for your supra since you turned over a new leaf??

You'll turn this into "Whether I have an rx7 or not is not the point because I can surely afford one I am just looking for the right one..." Personally I just think it's hypocritical for someone who no Japanese Aero Parts on his rx7 nor a rx7 in the first place(for whatever reason it may be) to be cutting people down 24/7 for having "Knock-off" or dare I say "REPLICA" aero parts on their car. That is my opinion.

BTW, it does look like it's not sitting right and may be because of the latch. But from the pictures I saw of the fitment quality of the original this is tons better.

If you are worried about not having a latch and people opening your hood, just get some hood pins that use a key to unlock them. Looks like your fitment is good, once you latch it down better and paint it, that gap won't even be noticable.

As far as knockoff, replica, or whatever.....there isn't anything wrong with trying to save a few bucks by taking a chance on quality. As time has gone by these replica hoods have gotten much better. I've seen some really crappy looking replica hoods, but here of late I have seen some very good work. I recently bought a faspac hood (similar to the mazdaspeed style), knowing that many didn't like the quality. But I took a chance, bought 2 dollars worth of bondo, and had it painted, sold my old hood for what it cost to get it painted, and ended up with a great looking hood for not much money. Just my 2 cents on the subject.

rx7rage, i think the hood looks great, and im sure it'll look even better when you get the hood latch on and painted. people wanna bitch because they are jealous and/or your mod list might be a little longer than theirs, just tell them to shove it. some people here really need to chill out.

That is a nice job on the Scoot hood, not my taste but well replicated.

Here is the knockoff carbon fiber MazdaSpeed Replica hoods we have.

It uses the stock latch.

Here's some more pictures:

Pics Here

Knockoff or not, the fit is excellent, and worth the $1300 in savings.

Oh, and did you see the original Scoot hood for $2200? What a piece of crap.

Also, our MazdaSpeed Replica hood you see was just bolted on with no fitting. It also has NO clearcoat on it yet.

Guys, please read all the post before you comment. it has been said plenty of times already that he IS getting a hood latch. so no stealing parts, and it will fit better. as far as fitment, the replica hood fits better, much better, then the original.

LOL thanks for making things nice and clear Elizer.

How will getting a hood latch make that 1/4 inch gap in the front of your hood go away? And to everybody else... **** look at how much this guy saved by getting a knockoff, what's the acual scoot hood cost to get in the us? 2400 or some crazy ****. so for a grand less wouldn't you use a little body filler and smooth everything out and save yourself a grand so you can buy some engine mods?? Seriously, for as cheap as it is I am suprized at the quality.

Coz the hood is not close all the way. That's why you see the gap. With the latch holding it down, the gap will be gone. That's how.
