Pic Request: plateless '99-spec RX-7 (yes, I searched)

I want to find a nice, quality picture of a plateless '99-spec FD3S that I can blow up and hang in my garage. I tried the search menu, but didn't get any satisfactory results; I entered "plateless 99-spec pics" with no results, "plateless pics" with no results, and "plateless 99-spec" got me a 99-spec picture thread but not plateless. Does anyone have any pics saved, bookmarked, or anything, that they can post? The color of the car doesn't matter, but it would be badass if someone has a pic of a red one! Thanks.

FYI, the license plate holder is molded into the OEM '99+ front bumper. The cars without plates are running aftermarket bumpers, or have had an OEM bumper modified by a bodyshop.

There are TONS of pics in that gazillion page thread in the Interior forum -- https://www.rx7club.com/interior-exterior-audio-26/post-pics-99-spec-fds-please-450638/

Also, Chris Regan has some pics - http://www.negative-camber.org/crispyrx7/99bumper.htm

Or Rotary Extreme who sells a urethane version - http://www.rotaryextreme.com/fdindex.html

You need to search for Rotary Extreme 99 bumper or RE 99 bumper.

get the front plate ! IMO, mazda designed the front plate holder with aesthetics in mind and these aftermarket faceplate-less cars are a testament to that. the front plate holder is a break in the flow of the front that makes the front bumper look balanced and aggressive; without it, the car looks like its got an elongated nose.

I dont think he is looking to buy, he just wants a pic of a platless 99 spec bumper so he can blow it up and put in his garage...

I'm going to have to disagree and say that I don't think any front plate holder makes the car look more "balanced and aggressive."

Quite the opposite actually, JMO, but of course, I am biased! There is a reason why nearly all professional pictures of automobiles do not have a front plate on them. (Commercials, ads, mags...)

heres mine, but yeah do a search their are a bunch of them.

and i completely disagree with the guy who said the plate holder is part of the flow, if anything it disrupts the flow. The only reason for it to be on the bumper is to hold a plate.

only reason i would get the oem 99 spec over the RE one is for the oem fitment. The RE has some issues with fitment, im going to try and refit mine soon as it gets warmer out... but of all the ones ive seen none really fit any better than how mine is on. with that said i chose the re cause it just looks sleeker.

Beautiful pictures everyone. Thanks alot.

I am absolutely in love with Mfanto's car; perfection in my opinion.

XSTransAm, your car is also beautiful. What's wrong with the fitment of your bumper? Is it the spacing by the healights?

s-thetikz, I disagree. Not only do I find the molded plate-holder to disrupt the otherwise clean lines of the front, but it doesn't seem very aerodynamic either.

yeah its the spacing by the headlights, after i installed the bumper i searched the forum for pics of all the other re bumper installs. I have a folder of about 15 of them on my desktop and every one has the same fitment problem around the lights.

supposedly it can be made better by taking the brackets off the stock bumper and putting them on the re one, and like i said ill be doing that soon as it gets a little warmer out.

s-thetikz, your car is magnifcent. The little scoop on the headlight is kinda distracting to the eye though. Still, very badass.

I obviously prefer OEM with plate vs. RE without plate (I had 2 of them at one point). Ones that don't have it, looks weird to me...

And the famous RED FD!!

^ Well, there's still some sagging around the headlight area, so it's not completely fixed, but for some reason my bumper fits a lot better than some other RE 99 bumpers I've seen out there.

Here's some more of Mfanto's car, with different skirts and headlight kit.
