pic of my new carbon fibre steering wheel

Hi Guys,
Did my first mod.
It's a Reverie Flight carbon fibre jobbie.
Made for top line powerboat racing!
Only £550!
Smaller diameter makes steering a lot more responsive too.
Nice one,
Scary Steve

Thumbs up

Wow, that is one way to save on weight. I like the way it looks in the car, maybe you should also get the carbon fiber pieces for the dash too.

I'd like it more if it had some rubber where you place your hands.

Yeah it needs some rubber/foam or some **** over the 9 and 3 o'clock and at the bottom a little bit. it is a little too C/F-ish for my liking tho.

Your car, do what pleases you.

I like it, it could use a little dress up, like a center cover or something...

Question: What size is it, 320mm? And how well can you see all your gauges threw it?

It's a 280mm.
As for the guages, the wheels only hiding the boring numbers. Everything 100mph and over is still clearly visable

I have been wondering for a while what the shift pattern is for RHD cars. Is it just like LHD or is the shift pattern reversed with 1st and 2nd being nearest the driver?

As for the wheel.... it's certainly different.

It's the same, so 1st and 2nd are farthest away from you and 5th and reverse are closest.

I kinda like the wheel, it's different. Something you don't see everyday. Nice.

Nice wheel, more carbon fiber in the interior would make it look better though..

If/when you crash with one of those, how much "give" does it have, and will it splinter?

Also..how's the grip? I would think that would get slick...or maybe I just get greasy hands after driving a while. Okay. maybe im just gross.

Get a Mazda emblem for the center, and do something to blend the wheel into the steering column. The lines don't seem to flow.

Personally don't like it.

Since your car is RHD, you may want to look into getting the Mazdaspeed CF dash replacement pieces.

i like it...but i dont like it.

i love the look of carbon fiber, and anything that is made out of carbon fiber. however, i think that steering wheel is a little too much. but it is original though. thats the first time i have ever seen an all carbon fiber steering wheel. if the wheel was covered in black leather, but the center and spokes left carbon fiber...i think it would look tight.

props on the very original looking wheel though!

How's the grip on that thing? It sure looks like it would get slippery when your hands start sweating going through the curves.

(ouch! only $785 US for that wheel)

Well I don't like it, it looks odd. I like carbon fiber things but not the wheel. Get a carbon fiber seat or wing or air duct is good, but not the steering wheel.
But it is your car if you like it then it is fine, because that is what suits you.
