PFC- Surging idle
Hey guys. SO.... The car surges.. only when driving and say slowdown to a stop light and the RPM's drop from 1300- idle, they'll bump back up to 1300, then back down, and maybe do that 2-3 times, then sit @ 1000k idle (which is fine).
But if i just start the car, and idle it it wont do it. OR if i use the gears to slow the rpms to 1000rpm (idle speed) it USUALLY wont do it either. Its when i take the car out of gear at higher then idle speed where it will surge a few times before finding the idle again.
Any insight into this? Its just a tad annoying, hhaa.
Cheers,
Mark

I was actually having a similar thing. The car would surge from 1000 to 1300 but only when I was coasting out of gear. It would stop when I stopped and it would even start if I let the car start rolling. I pulled the dashpot (as in it's in my backseat now) and closed the air bypass screw from 1/2 to 1/4 from closed and it seems to have stopped.
I have the O2FB on in my setup, idle at 800/900/1000 with FC at 900/1000/1100. I've basically heard that fiddling with the throttle plate screw, air bypass screw, dashpot, O2FB, idle, and FC is needed to find the perfect balance for your car. Also make sure your clutch switch is working.
Good luck. There's very few things that make you feel like more of an idiot than a constantly surging idle in traffic. Been there.
