I'm trying to imagine how it'd be missing the midpipe side flange short of someone just hacking a piece off the end, if so that'll kinda suck cuz you'll have to have a new piece welded in and flanged etc. It's not a huge deal though, any muffler shop should be able to do it. As far as the midpipe, the stock cat should mate up to the DP the same as a midpipe would. Also you dont wanna go getting a midpipe if you dont either a. port the wastegate and remove the restrictor pills to keep the boost down or b. get an ecu etc to support higher boost levels <midpipe removal will cause the boost to creep significantly over the stock limits>.

No, you don't have to get a midpipe, in fact, you shouldn't get a midpipe until you are well prepared to deal with it. ECU, ported wastegate, additional fueling needs, etc.

Yes, pettit is a good company www.pettitracing.com

As far as the missing flange, it sounds like you got ripped off. I know it was only $20 but you may wanna contact the seller and see what he can do about it. Did you know it didn't have the flange when you bought it? All pettit dp's come with flanges, (so do the rest of the dp's, for that matter) so he must have either cut it, or it isn't really a pettit dp.

Unless "20 bucks" was a typo I'd say he got a pretty good deal regardless of wether or not it was real, or had the flange, lol.
