Pettit Racing Shifter Renew Kit
I am close to installing the B&M Short Shifter kit, and have a question about the Pettit Racing Shifter Renew Kit, part # SH-PK-SR. The Pettit web site says it includes bushings, ball tip, boots and foam, but doesn't give any other description.
Has anyone purchased / installed this kit? Does this kit help with any of the rattling/vibration issues? Is it worth the $100 bucks? Is it cheaper to buy OEM replacement parts from Mazda? Do I even need to worry about replacing these items?
My car has 77K on it, and shifts fine right now (except for the occasional 3rd gear miss ), but I thought that replacing these items while I install my short shifter might be a good idea.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
David

I just installed my B&M over the weekend, it does vibrate, but i have the stock shifter. If you get an aftermarket shifter or wrap the stock shifter in electircal tape it will stop the vibrating i think. The shifter came with good directions, and you don't need that kit. The B&M shifter came with everything you need, except the bushing that you have to remove from the bottom of the stock shifter.
