Pettit main pulley...?

I remember a few years back I added a Pettit Pulley kit.

The Pulley was to be attached to the main drive pulley with the alignment mark to match up with the arrow on the Main drive pulley.

If improperly installed will the Pettit pulley affect the Timing?

I've never put a Pettit main drive pulley on, nor have I paid one any attention, but the timing on our car has little to do with the pulley itself. There's a separate piece of metal that goes with the main drive pulleys that carries the timing readings for the crank angle sensors. That and the pulley only go on the correct way in my experience (unless it's super dumb luck several times over) because the bolt holes are slightly irregular in arrangement. I can't imagine the Pettit pulley eliminating this separate crank timing plate, but like I said if it does then it should still only go on the correct way. If it doesn't you'll know in a hurry because the car won't start.
