Pettit just told me a 94 ECU won't work on a 93

Was looking to buy a Pettit ECU and found one that is 94 and the price that I am willing to pay. Pettit told me that a 94 ecu is looking for an EGR and would trip a engine code in my 93. He said that a 93 cali would work with this ecu but my 93 could only get a 93 or 95 non cali ecu. Anyone else heard of this b4?

You can only use a 93 non-cali, I don't know why he said you could use a 95, it is no different than a 94. Yes, it is because 93 cali, and all 94+ECU's have an EGR switch and the computer will pull a code if there is not one there.

Well they told me that a 93 and 95 will swap on each other as long as one is not Cali and the other is. But that a 94 looks for an EGR valve just like cali 93 and cali 95. Pettit said that putting a 94 ecu on a 93 and/or 95 will flip an engine code.

Interesting maybe now that answers my questions as to why when I sent my ecu to pettit about 3 years ago
when I got it back it had a note on it to keep it separate from the others ?
