WI Pettit downpipe HELP?

I recently purchased a pettit downpipe for my fd from a guy on ebay. The pipe looks to be solid, but doesn't fit for jack. The angle of the flange from the downpipe to main cat is off a fair amount. The seller on ebay was wild and claims it's pettit and they all do that. Upon sending pictures to pettit, Cam responded and said it's not one of his because the flanges are different than what comes on one from him. The wholes in the one I got are oval, cam says his are round. The flange on mine is 3/8" thick and cam says his are 1/2". Ebay seller says no refund and insists that Cam is lying. If anyone has some input and can help me sort out who is the real liar here, I would be very greatful. Thanks, Kyle

I guess the main question is, does it matter who is lying? You aren't going to get your money back for it. Have you tried getting the exhaust off the hangers and see if you can get it to fit?

There is no reason for Cam to lie. Take it to a muffler shop to get the flange welded to the proper angle.

I know I'm pretty sure I'm going to be out my money, I already bought an HKS downpipe and installed it. The HKS fit absolutly perfect with no hassel at all. I'm more trying to find out what this pipe is so I can have something to tell someone when I try to sell it for whatever it's worth. I'm pretty sure that the pipe I recieved is an rx7 store downpipe, based on the pictures and other simliar fittment issues when trying to bolt up to a stock main cat. I don't feel that Cam is lying either, I think the ebay seller is just a deadbeat

IMO, if it's that big of a piece of ****, just trash it. Don't pass it on to someone else to complain about.

Yet another reason not to buy something cheap off ebay, it just ends up costing you more in the end, and really, lets support our own businesses instead of Chinas.

I'm not saying deals aren't to be had on fleabay, but this makes me shake my head every time.

I agree with Mahjik, if you know the pipe it's trash, don't pass it along to the next poor sucker. Karma is a bitch you don't want to mess with.

If you pay for auction with Paypal, just file a claim. You should have no problem with getting your money back if the item did not match his auction description. As long as you're within the claim period, I would say you have a 90% chance of getting your money back. Ebay and Paypal has a very good buyer protection program, that almost always favors the buyer.
