Question Petit Cool Air Induction System

I know the Pettit intake is fairly popular with members. Can someone tell me where it draws its air from? Maybe the light flap, or a duct to the nose like Racing Beat? They claim "a unique cold air duct which draws in cool outside air (rather than superheated engine compartment air)." I know they have a good rep but unfortunately, they don't answer ANY of my e-mails, so I can't get more detailed info.

you might as well make it out of some k&n filters and save yourself soem money. I think the total cost for "do-it-yourself" is under $100 whereas the pettit intake is $400 and comes with an extra "shield".

Yeah, the Pettit is totally obsolete because it was one of the first and has not been upgraded.

M2's and similar are a lot better.

Should be renamed Pettit Hot Air Induction. Money better spent on other intakes. http://www.scuderiaciriani.com/rx7/intake.html

It draws air in from next to the radiator, under the car. Most of the cool air intakes that don't steal air from the IC get it from the same place (including M2, etc.). The Pettit kit just isn't closed off from the engine bay as well, so the intake temps are higher. I heard that Pettit tried a plate ont he back for better sealing but decided against it because the turbos got hotter when they did that. I'm not justifying thier decision, but just relaying the story I heard (which could be BS, of course).
