Yeah my car was in the super-reliable category. A stock AT car 150,000 miles on stock motor and turbos, never a hiccup. Did upgrade the radiator/hoses, though. Even the AT died before anything engine-related. That was until....(drumroll) ratnest fire!
The fire was caused by old and/or cracked injector. But now I can get a whole new motor from my ins payout! My motor still had perfect compression 2days before fire. Unpredictable is definitely a more accurate description.
It seems most forum members w/reliability issues are a.modding the car fast and furiously or b. just bought a car that has already had that kind of treatment. There are very few decent stock examples left.
