www.bankrate.com has some nice search functions for comparing loan rates. Might also want to check out lendingtree.com as well as your local CU's. My CU will do 5.25% for up to 84 months.

People First

They are awesome, approved my loan less than 30 minutes, got the check within 3 days and best of all they determine the loan criteria base on your credit history, not necessarily the car you want to buy. Meaning you can actually purchase salvaged vehicles, as well as vehicles that cost more than blue book value.

razor - I financed my '94 FD through them earlier this year. 6.99%!!! Whoohooo!

They were very easy to work with. Filled out the application online, they called me asked a few questions about blemishes in my past credit, then sent me a blank check! Couldn't have been much easier! And I got to save all my cash for mods... (my car was stock when I bought it Feb 02, from the sig, yes I've been busy!!)

I tried Peoplefirst before, but I think they have something like you have to make at least $25K per year for them to even consider you. I understand their reasoning, but it pissed me off because I have awesome credit, but I didn't make the minimum amount. I can get approved for just about any loan I try for, but Peoplefirst would not even CONSIDER me.

I just used them today to purchase a 93 Touring RX-7. I applied on a Sunday, when they were closed. They called my wife that day while I was out looking at cars, saying we had been approved.

They approved me at my comfortable spending level (which works great, if you qualify or over quality, they only give the up to what you ask for, not what you could afford - think credit card companies).

And no, I don't work for them...

And a comment on their processors' skills. My wife doesn't have an AZ driver's license yet, so we used her US Passport as ID. They scanned in her ID page, with her maiden name. The peoplefirst guy quickly realized that her name was different (airports don't realize this), and he asks me to fax the amendment page showing her married name. Now, that is amazing attention to detail. It's freakish to be honest with you.
