People who have done Rikki's Non-Seq setup

If you have recently done the non-seq setup per Rikki's site, would you mind posting your thoughts on it. Just a quick summation of the driveability changes, spool-up times, etc. Also, if you could list your applicable mods, it will make it easier for others to compare.

Thanks.

I had done the conversion on my old car and I actually liked it. I think I might have had some primary turbo problems before I went non-seq. but I liked the non-seq power band better than the seq. anyways. The car "seemed" faster although I don't know if it was, it was probably just that the power was at a different rpm range. I liked it enough to say if I ever got another stock TT rx7 that I'd probably go full permanent non seq. very shortly with it.

Mods:

Full exhaust/no cats
M2 stage 3 ecu
intake
Home Depot(Lowes actually)manual boost controller
Air pump removed

I liked non seq. but some people don't.

i did the conversion w/ some help from ryan, thanks man, but have since gone back. i did the conversion to get out of finding a boost leak somewhere. your car becomes loud as hell, and the lag wasn't for me. but man, once those turbos spooled up you just took off. consistent power all the way to redline.
for the kind of driving i do, around town, i like to have instant power right away. if you do alot of highway driving or you don't mind waiting for the turbos to spool up, then you should do it. nick

What rpm range were you beginning to see full boost, 4000, 4500, higher?

I did Rikki's NS mod because I was having Seq. boost problems that I couldn't track down. Or was too lazy to trouble shoot.

Going Non-seq was great for me because now I ALWAYS get strong boost all the way to redline. Don't have to worry about spikes or whether or not you'll even get boost when you punch it.

As for driveability, boost is predictable and smooth. You won't get that rush of power at 4500 rmp that will sometimes break the back end loose while going around a turn. I get full boost(12psi) around 3900 rpm. I do miss the instant power of the Sequential set-up but I'm too lazy to go back and find out where my seq system is messed up. Maybe someday I'll get the urge to do the week-long silicone hose job...

I'd say go for it if you have issues with your seq. system. If your seq system is perfect, don't.

Mods:
lg. SMIC, M2 ECU, dp, hi-flow cat, intakes, catback.
