Passed Emissions in NJ!
Passed Emissions in NJ!
Well, I've been reading a couple of posts about people having problems passing emissions in some states. Thought I would have a problem here in NJ with the mods I now have. I didn't find any place to buy methanol so I figured what the hell, let me see what happens.
Right now I have about 1700 miles on the engine since rebuild. I made sure to have it fully warmed up, was driving around for at least a half hour prior to the test and made some full boost runs.
I told the guy at the inspection station to slowly hit the gas to stay off boost when he did the dyno test. Results were:
.............standard.........my reading
NO 1045 ............ 314
HC 136 ............. 36
CO% 0.76 .............0.01

guess i'm not really sure if those readings are at idle or with the wheels rolling on the dyno, although I would believe it has to pass at both idle and when moving. Now that I checked the printout they gave me it says rpm's are 0.
when i had my Grand Cherokee tested last week, it had the rpm's listed as 2500 on the printout.
All I know is that I was very pleased that it did pass!

my FD passed state inspection at a state inspection station. the morons stalled it a bunch of times. With similar mods except 87k mile blown coolant seal engine and smoking. i passed with flying colors 1/4 of the maximums for everything. you just need a cat and air pump! congrats
