Talking Passed CA Dyno Smog Test at a Test Only Station with M2 Stage 3 Mods in place

Just thought the California folks might be interested in the following. I know it worried me ever since I did my mods. I passed the infamous CA "Test Only" smog check yesterday with the following mods in place:

M2 Stage 3 package which included:

1) M2 Large Intercooler - The smog tech's computer said this is a "Level 2" modification and a carb E&O is not necessary if the turbocharger is stock.
2) M2 Carbon Fiber Air Box - The smog tech didn't question this.
3) Downpipe - The smog tech did not notice this
4) M2 Stage 3 ECU - I was afraid this would make me not pass at the tailpipe but I was wrong
5) Racing Beat Cat Back - We all know cat back mods are fine
6) Rotary Extreme Main Underdrive Pulley - No comments from smog tech
7) Greddy Profec B - They made me remove this and come back

However they did spend 15 minutes trying to find my evap canister even though I told them it was in the back between the rear suspension and fuel tank!

My emission numbers were:

15mph test:

HC Max: 88 - Measured: 69
CO Max: .52 - Measured: .33
NO Max: 704 - Measured: 97

25mph test:

HC Max: 53 - Measured: 47 (close!)
CO Max: .50 - Measured: .27
NO Max: 738 - Measured: 173

I had been worried I would pass with the M2 Stage 3 Mods. It was a big relief to pass. Yeah the smog issues and many other things about CA really suck. But it's home to me and I live in San Diego right by the beach. 70 degrees year round and surfing and sailing! Cars aren't my ENTIRE life

Gee... two years of freedom now... maybe it's time to throw in a single turbo and a programmable fuel computer! HA!

Congrats on passing. I passed earlier this year with equivalent mods. Mine look much more like stock than yours. Its nice to have a 300 rwhp car that will pass smog.

You had a very lenient smog tech on the visual. And the stock main cat is what saved you as far as emissions. Congrats.
