Get a used one from the wreckers which is alot cheaper than buying new.

Since I had my car, I've had to purchase a new door handle for my drivers door, and just recently, purchased a passenger side door handle.

It happens to all of us.

^ It is not all that hard to fix, there are a variety of ways to do it, but of course it depends on the extent of the damage. If you simply have the 'classic' failure where the vertical post breaks away, you can use some quick setting epoxy and eyeball it back into place, and once that has set up you can (or should) go about reinforcing that post by fiberglassing in a hardwood dowel or a piece of metal.
You have to take the entire handle assembly off to do this, by the way. And you have to be careful about not covering up any of the screw holes and power window switch access.
For the final touch use some black silicone adhesive sealant around the exterior part of the 'post', run a VERY small bead (talking like 1/16" here!) carefully around the whole thing top and bottom and it gives it a factory look.

Seems like Rich (Goodfella) has a thread in the 'parts for sale' section......

Just replaced mine with new. . .$300 from Ray at Malloy. Expensive but it is the whole black part of the door -- well at least if you have two-tone interior (mine was all scratched and showing 13 yrs of wear and tear anyway). . .bottom line, I'm very pleased with the new part.

Not the entire door panel. 300 gets you the handle along with the plastic section that sweeps back and recesses for the door lock.

Just FYI, these interior pieces are slowly being phased out by mazda. they already dont offer the a/c panel in the 94-95 finish anymore. I swapped out my entire interior with the 94-95 finish about 6 months ago because I didn't want to get caught without new oem parts as an option.

thank you for bumping this thread from 2006 with a link to a thread from 2002.

What is with all these people bumping ancient threads lately? Do you people not look at the timestamp on the left?

REALLY....I mean...the NERVE of some people. Why don't they just clutter up the forum with another thread on the same topic? Oh...wait...they probably would if somebody wasn't always bitching at them to search for old posts on the same topic.

Mazda is phasing out all parts sooner or later.

The trouble with interior parts is that they only apply to LHD cars. The JDM has been helping keep mechanical and body parts available as long as it's been because they are interchangeable.
