Question Part Numbers for ECU and Wire Harness Connectors

Anybody know who manufactures the ECU connectors and ECU to wireharness connectors? I know the PowerFC has these connectors so somebody must still be making them.

Thanks!

I believe Sumitomo makes the connectors, but it's VERY hard to track down the pieces unless you're in the industry. I've tried, trust me .

One thing that is nice is the Autosport Wiring harness -

http://www.autosportwiring.com/

It's a short harness that goes between the ECU and the stock harness for splicing in aftermarket electronics - you don't have to cut up your stock harness, and you can remove it from the car for ease of wiring. I've got one on my car and love it.

Yeah, I found that harness on your clubrx website. Pretty nice, but pretty expensive at $160. Thanks for the manufacturer name. I'll give a shot at searching for the connectors. If I get lucky, I'll let you know.

Oh wow, that is perfect! I may have to drop some cash for that. Thanks Dale.

I've been VERY happy with mine. I *LOVE* electronic Japanese gizmos, so I knew I would be putting a lot in my car . It is really nice just to be able to pull that harness out and comfortably splice things into the harness. I usually put a towel on the passenger floor board and solder my connections over that.

It is a bit pricey for the harness, but it's MUCH cheaper than a new factory harness. Wouldn't be worth it for just putting in one gizmo of some kind, but if you are going to run a few or something that has a lot of wires (like an AVC-R) it sure is handy.

Yeah, that is nice. I am going to mess around with a DIY DAQ system sometime soon and something like that would make my life a lot easier.

I usually use those "vampire" clips to splice into wires. Causes very little damage to the harness.

Has anyone noticed any numbers imprinted on the connectors, this company in the UK seems to have some that look suspiciously similar

http://www.dataspares.com/connectors.htm

I'd look myself, but only have a few bits and pieces with female plugs available at the moment - there doesn't appear to be anything on them.

Also wonder what the "right" crimping tool would be worth.
