Part Indenifing

On the front rotor housing, right above the spark plugs there is a black thing with a wire leading up. What is this thing, and do I need it? The plug in part snapped in half.

I am going full non-seq and getting PFC so I wont have the solonoid rack. Also anyone have pics of full non-seq and AWS blocked off? Thanks!

That's your knock sensor, Josh. I honestly think it's a huge piece of ****, but others will say you need it. I'm not positive, but I think that the PFC doesn't even use it for anything other than showing its reading on the commander.

You might want to research this. Why do you want to remove it? If you do you will get a check engine light.
