paranoia or problem???

so the other day i was driving down the highway when the seal that connects the airpump pipe to the cat snapped. so i go get a new one and re attach it with some machine clamps. later on today im driving down the highway and i hear this noise by my back right tire. I get home and around that general area smells like melting something and is hot as hell...

should I be concerned or is this car getting to my head?

has something like this happened to anyone else before?

thanks

hm, thats weird. Ya I would drive the car again, and keep the radio low or off and see if the sound comes back, and when you park, check if it still smells hot . if not then your fine, if you smell it again, lift the car up and investigate the area

would that be the mufler side? if so, the hot/melting smell could be your rear bumper guard melting away from the hot mufler. they pretty much always do when you upgrade to a higher flow catback
