Painting Fan Blades

Has anyone painted their radiator fan blades? If so, post pics of them. I'm in the process of cleaning mine and thought they would stay cleaner looking if they were some color other than white. TIA.

Yea, he's referencing my buddy Art's car in that post:

You can just see the top of the shroud in the picture (BTW, the green hoses are gone and are now blue ).

I can't remember where the place was. I have it in email someplace if anyone needs it (or I can just bug him for the info again).

I'm boring, I just went for the standard black shroud.

After seeing the pic above, I'm considering chroming my fan blades.. It might be neat with the black shroud.

I emailed this place: http://www.muellercorp.com/chromeplatingplastic.htm
To see what they charge..

Also, thanks for the link to the rad. hose kit.. I guess one of the end of the hose kit didn't work on the water pump housing?

Those hose ends they show on the sight are extra. The standard end is just black tape over the SS weaving (so you don't cut yourself up).

I did buy chromed ends but they wouldn't fit on the upper radiator hose (pretty much either side). You can see them on the lower hose. Actually the SS hose was so thick that I had to grind some away after the clamp to keep it from rubbing on the water pump pulley. I may have to do a little more grinding, but we'll see once it starts.

Yes, I did the motors and shroud in Flat Black. The motors were quite nasty so I just freshened them up while they were out.

Did you sand them or just clean and scuff them up?

I only did work where something had damaged a blade or two. Mainly I just cleaned them with some warm soapy water. Other than that, I just coated them with some primer and then painted away.
