Overheating Problem
Overheating Problem
So I have owned this car for almost 2 years and had no problems with the cooling system even on hot days 100+ the car always maxed out at around 95C even with A/C on in traffic never going above this. Recently I noticed while driving the car is now seeing temps at 100C even after short drives. The car was then losing coolant pretty fast and I searched for a leak and have found nothing and have let the car idle and see no smoke coming from the engine so I don't think its burning off before I can see it. My oil is still clear and the exhaust smells very normal although it's heard to smell through the oil and premix and doesn't appear. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated sorry if I'm dumb I'm new so don't flame me lol

Ok I'll try that I also forgot to mention I have the upgraded AST from petite racing koyorad radiator bigger intercooler and FC thermoswitch but I'll try to get a hold of a coolant pressure tester first and go from there
AST doesn't make coolant dissapear, if it doesn't have a restrictor or small orifice in one of the ports it will bypass the radiator with a small flow, that's a tiny optimisation of a non-compromised system however.
You have almost certainly had a combustion chamber- water jacket coolant seal fail. You may start experiencing poor idle after warm up and starting on one rotor if you let it progress. Be mindful that pressure tests may not show a leak or an a cold rotary or piston engine that eats coolant hot too.
I'd suggest rebuilding and parts inspection before you get corrosion damage.

Go and rent or buy a coolant system pressure tester. That will help find any leaks - internal or external.
There are so many hoses on this car that it is easy for one of them to dry out with age or a clamp to get tired and leak out while the car is running - i.e. the coolant system is pressurized.
