ok. i dont drive the car much. has a rebuild about 2500 miles on it. the mods include nothing more than a downpipe. in town driving is getting the car hot. ideas?

 

adeas:
1) the cooling system has air in it. - Burb the system and get all the air out.
2) you do not have your undertrey installed. - install undertrey and fill any gaps with foam.
3) 1 or both of your electric fans are not coming on. - check relays and fans, turn the a/c on to see if fans come on immediately.
4) your radiator is old and sucks - replace with fluidyne

 

Define "hot". What temps are you seeing?

 

not in med area between hot n cold.

 

You need an aftermarket temp gauge and start getting some real numbers.

 

ok. what temp am i looking for as far safe temps.?

 

Anything at or over 230F for street driving is a concern.

 

I try to stay between 85 degress celcius and 95 degrees celcius it can handle more than that like mahjik stated but i like to stay at these temps.
