overhaul help needed
Hi there guys.. i have been of my rx7 for a while now
back in jan i had chipped a apex seal probably or that is what i think happend or maybe warped.. the car still runs fine.. but the idle is rough start up and warm up is just perfect, but the problem starts just after the car is at idle rpm..
if the car is running above 1500 rpms.. there is no problems..
so what i am confused is what parts i should buy.. i know that i need a over haul kit including all the seals and etc...
but is there a way to know if the rotor housing needs changing without dismantling the engine ???
atkins kit C, and PTS apex seals is where i am heading.. please let me know what you guys think i should do.. cause i dont want the problem to get much more worse than it already is..

Have you done a compression check to verify you've chipped/warped a seal? It would save a lot of time/money to start there.
At minimum you will need to visually inspect the housing.
seals are a big debate, but after the reading I've done is that unless your are heavily modified stock seals are recommended by most.

yea i have dont a compression test before but not with a mazda/rotary tester as far as i understood that there is one strong activity on front rotor housing,
another problem that i come up with is that there is most likely water seepage as there is some cream like substance under the oil cap..

i have tried driving for longer period.. i guess its best for me now to open up the engine and see whats up....
the only problem is that i dont know if i would require a housing and if so how many would i require.. cause i am buying all the parts from atkins rotary , sydney or japan..
and there is virtually nothing available for the rx7 in bangladesh or in the near by countries.. everyone has stuff for rx8's..
