Only on RHD... If the one in your pics is the exact same ones you plan to sell, then they will NOT fit perfect in our (LHD) cars... and anyone who has this exact one probably does not have a perfect fit either. The RHD shifter panel has a slight contour over the edge of the console towards the right side and the LHD shifter panel is just the opposite. So if it was made for a RHD, then there is no way it will perfectly fit a LHD... you will have to "make" it fit.

Are you sure it was designed for LHD? I didn't know there was a non-smokers option for US models.

yeah - direct from a mazda dealership - there's no mystery to it.

as for the possible fit issues - it's obvious some people have a problem, some don't. I personally don't think it's a LHD/RHD issue, but the difference between version I consoles, and version II-VI. I'll elaborate on that tomorrow.

DaiOni---Sucks on the price change.

As for fitment, I had the cool light just like the models in the US, but yes the contour is a little different, but I have seen some of my customers rides in person and it looks like the same fit we have over here, just the door is backwards.

okay, now I am all confused. If I do get one, I will probably get one off of RX7.com. Now, my question is, is the one they sell there for LHD or RHD? Will I have fitment problems then too?

scrub - your armrest arrived in the US on friday (according to the tracker) - so it can't be far away.

DaiOni, your car is incredible. The lip looks very good with the 99 bumper.

The one you will receive is made for RHD, but will fit LHD. US models did not have the Non-Smoker Option, so there were no LHD armrests made ( to my knowledge).

Give this, I assume there will be fitment problems as well? Like the ones he posted on the first page? slightly raised? I'm just wondering if I should get it now... I don't want anything on my car that "slightly" fits...

If you play w/ it a bit, it WILL fit. I and others have posted that they have zero fitment problems. There are no versions of this...all the armrests are the same. So again, you may just need to wiggle it around a little until you get it to fit properly.

Oh and just outta curiosity, the others who have no fitment problems, what year is your FD? Mine's a 94... (curious if there's a pattern re: fitment in 94s and 95s)

after looking through everything...it drops in fine but the the drivers side has a LITTLE gap, wont even really be noticed. dont worry about fitment issues..like what fdnewbie said, just play around with it and youll get a good fit.
and there might even be a little difference between the shifter panels too. i have a 94 also..but no idea how people with 93s had it fit

It wasn't in the GB section, but the parts section - originally I intended to sell them individually, but the price of the copies is so low - that I had to GB the originals. I'm not sure about the quality of the copy - I've never eyeballed one, but the OEM part is, of course, perfect.

If there was going to be a fitment issue, I would have thought it would have been with the earliest production run (type I in japan, 91-93 - I think those are all plated 93 in the US). I originally tried to order the part via a honda dealership that I work part-time at. They said that it wouldn't fit, and that I'd need the whole console section. I checked with JT, and he gave me the parts #, and the reassurance that it would work. So I went direct to the local mazda dealership and got the part - which fits perfectly. In hindsight, I wonder if the honda dealership thought I have a type I (I have a late 93 - one of the first type IIs). Anyway... that's my little story for the day.

oh, and as for the possibility of another GB. Definitely in the future, but maybe not for a while. I'm moving 1000km south next month - so all parts 'services' will cease for a little while (until I'm settled, and can work out where the closest mazda dealership is!)

Mine doesnt fit at all. I just get it today and went to drop the armrest in his place and only 3 corner on 4 go flush to the center console. I'm really disappoint....Someone have a solution ..... ?????

Mine fit nicely. Not sure what the problem is. It does open away from the driver.
