Opinions on the APEXI PFC

Ok heres the deal, I have been dreading this day all my life but its deff. time to get and ecu upgrade. Its between the APEXI PFC and Petits Unlimited Ecu. Which one should I buy. I prefer to do everything myself and no I dont have a dyno with wideband datalogging. Im looking for around 350 rwhp. Heres all my questions.

1. Does the Unlimited Ecu support larger injectors?

2. Is it possible to tune the PFC at home, no dyno?

3. If im only looking for 350hp, is the petit a better option.

4. Will the Unlimited ecu fix the 3k hesitation?

5. What is the max boost you can run with the petit?

i think the power fc is a much better choice. people always say they only want this much power, but trust me, you will want more afterwards.

If you have the money go with PFC. Although if you are not experianced with tuning i would advise you to take the car to a reputable tuner and have it tuned properly on a dyno with a wideband.

if you get the Power FC, plan on getting it professionally tuned immediately. I've been trying to learn all I can for the last few months about tuning a Power FC and it is a daunting task. If done wrong, kiss your engine good-bye.

Otherwise, the replacement ECUs like the Petit is pretty nice b/c its plug and play and will have good driveability characteristics right out of the box.

Since you are in TX, you might want to touch base with Gotham Racing and talk to Steve or Rich over there.

thanks for the replys guys, I guess ill give the experts a call. One more though, with the PFC I will have to add oil in the gas everytime I fill up right? Also, does anyone know forsure if the Unlimited Ecu fixes the 3k hesitation?

You are talking about the OMP and yes you are able to run it with the Power FC so you would not have to premix.

The ECU could possible fix the 3K hesitation but from my research it is "normally" fixed with good grounds.

Jonesie -

EDIT: Cleaned up my thought to a sentence.....

the powerFC is good if you want to stay sequential, from my experience

if you plan on going single or non sequential, other ECU's make things so much easier by eliminating the BS

That comparison doesn't make sense to me.

You can compare:

PFC with Buddy Club (both have datalogic tuneable software)

Pettit, M2, Superchips, Kightsports, RE-A, ..etc (all are upgraded chips in OEM computer)

PFS with Buddy Club (both are piggy back but the PMS is outdated and the BC Racing Spec is brand new technology)

1. Pettit-No, PFC-Yes
2. Addtional Datalogic software, laptop and talent
3. No, your maxed out on fuel delivery.
4. No (PFC-yes) and there's no reason for the extra $50 for unlimited chip since you can't deliver the fuel. If you could then you couldn't use a modified OEM ECU.
5. 1 bar/14.7lbs (100% fuel duty cycle stock injectors & pump)

Get the PFC and larger injectors. Drive the car over to Gotham Racing and let Steve Kan tune it. Done.
