one year after rebuild - Still having Primary turbo problems..help

For starters, I am on the stock twins, and stock ECU - no mods to the turbo, just an aftermarket intake, and DP.

I rebuilt last year because of a chipped Apex seal (bought car with 98k miles and that was the first engine). Before the rebuild I was having sporatic boost issues, some times it worked great, other times it did not. During the rebuild I replaced all of the hoses - went by the great color diagram I found here. The car has been sitting for a while since I rebuilt it, and now I'm ready to start driving it for the summer.

The problem since the rebuild (still happening now) is my car will not produce any boost from the primary turbo. I can hear the primary spool up, but no boost. If I take her up into the higher revs, I will feel the secondary kick in where it is supposed to. Vacum looks good. The car idles good - around 1000rpm. I noticed that when I gas it up to around 2,000spm and hold it there, the idle will produce a small but noticable fluctuation.

I have been looking over all the hoses again, checking for leaks, etc. I can't find anything. Is there any obvious reasons or places to start looking for a problem like this?

as always, any help would be appreciated.

If you ruled out boost leaks or a mixed up hose, it sounds like a solenoid issue. I'd be happy to look at it for you.

Is the pre-control flap fully closed? Make sure the actuator is pulling it tightly closed. I had a very similar problem a few years back and that was the solution.

I'll take a look at this tomorrow. That could be the case. I also replaced all the hoses to the wastegate, and TPC. checked the Cat. Re-checked the vacuum hoses and check valves. I'm running out of things to look for other than gigantic leaks or the wastegate/TPC doors are ajar.

ok, I have checked the Wastegate, and TPC doors, they both seem to be OK.

I performed a poor-man's Non Sequential to see if I could isolate anything in the Seq. System. I still have a similar problem.

Something is dumping boost, or there is a boost leak somewhere. In idle, I can gas it, hold tach at 4-5rpms, and watch my vacuum go to 5in and then slowly drop back down to 20in. It never reaches any kind of boost in idle. - I read that it was suposed to hit 5psi if reved from idle.

I hav inspected, and/or replaced every hose, checked the Wastgate actuator and turbo pre-control doors, I've checked the CRV and the BPV, inspected silicon couplers, stopped the ecu from controling the wastegates (should push 7psi without wastegate solenoid), everything I can think of outside starting to test the rat's nest solenoids.

So as I approach the next step (solenoids), can somone help me determine which ones are nesscary to test for the NSeq setup.

thank you

Please let us know if replacing the LIM solves the problem.

By the sound of it I would have guessed you have an issue in the charge control mechanism.
