is the OMP not working?

I haven't had my car too long. about 1000 miles. I noticed it is not consuming oil like I thought it should.

how much oil do these burn? when should I be needing 1/2 a quart?

previous owner had the engine replace that street ported 6 K ago.

is there a way to tell if the OMP is working? a have a PowerFC if that helps.

thanks
Greg

also untill I get this figured out, Ill premix to be safe. how much premix should I add per tankful?

1/2 a quart every 1200-1500 huh well then maybe it is working. I did an oil change about 750 miles ago and it did burn/leak some since then...
also after doing a search, looks like 10z per gal is recommended with NO OMP
with the OMP working 1/2 OZ per gal.
anyone else know how to tell if the OMp it working or not?

Where did you find the 10oz recommendation? If possible, can you post a link?

I'm looking for a good qualified suggestion about how to premix with no MOP.
