KS OMP Adaptor and 500R SP

Hey guys (and Gals) I just installed an RA Omp adaptor. My car is still on jack stands while I am doing some other work so it has not even been started since the install. I am running an A-Spec 500r Sp turbo and the clearance between the OMP and the front exhaust manifold is now less than 1/2". I am concerned about heat causing the OMP to fail. Does anyone have any experaince with this?

If you really are concerned then pull it, otherwise I would find some heat shielding / fire blanket to cover it with. I pulled mine and decided to premix and I have been happy as a clam.

I've installed one on a 500R kit and didn't have any issues. This particular car had everything ceramic coated but I also made a heat shield and put it around the omp. I think I used the DEI stuff.

OP and Ihor, which manifold was used, the short runner or long runner? I'm getting a short runner 500R-SP and I'm planning on adding the OMP adapter, and I was thinking there would be enough room between the OMP and manifold, but I was curious about fitment with the oil return line being right there. Any advice or input?

Speedjunkie --- one thing I noticed when I was pulling the twins is the small metal (i believe 3 inch) oil return on the front iron closest do the rad. If you use that metal return line in conjunction with a dump tube from a single, you would have no issues what so ever with clearance and it would also help eliminate any possible kinking if your running a soft return line.

Well I'm using that piece on my current single, and I was thinking about trying to use it again but A-Spec cuts those lines to length and I'm afraid I'd kink the line if I use it. I might still give it a shot, and if it doesn't work, maybe I'll just try to find the shortest fitting I can to put between the two pieces A-Spec provides just to give me the little extra bit I need.

I like how you think! LOL
