Todd,
Oil on the intake is not great but is normal for cars driven hard at times. See my resolution:
http://reganrotaryracing.tripod.com/catch.htm
The flooded engine, i.e., gas on the plugs and in the rotor chamber is prolly from the ignition system malfunctioning from err "something" affecting the ignition. Don't give up.
It most likely is an easily fixable problem. Give it time. Let the car dry out both fuel and water and try again.
Good luck
Crispy

That's a good idea and all, but this whole thing is just really starting to **** me off. I do more work on my cars then I do driving the damn things. Tomorrow is the day. If I can't fix it tomorrow, I'm retireing from the game. I'll let you know how it goes.

It's clear you are upset and frustrated about the problems you are having with your FD. That's why when you are feeling like this, it is the absolute worst time to make decisions such as selling your car.

When I get in situations such as you are in now, I find it best just to walk away from the problem for a while and get it off of my mind. A few days later I approach the problem with a new perspective, positive attitude, and an open mind.

We all get into situations like this. Just be patient. My bet is that in the end you will find that the problem was something very minor.

I'll see what I can do. Thank you all for your info on my car. I'll use it all and see if I can fix this problem now. The truck is still an option, but right now I'm concentrating more on fixing my cars, and then I'm going to make the decision that will best suit my needs.

I took out the plugs and the second rotor(nearest to the firewall) was covered in gas, leading and trailing. The plugs looked pretty black, so I'm running a little rich(that's a good thing). Anyway, I took off the filters to my turbos to see if I ingested some water or something. I did notice that the coupler to my intercooler inlet from the turbo has black oil in it.
Oil in the intercooler and tubes is normal. Clean or replace your plugs and see what happens. I flooded mine once, I pulled the plugs and dried them with a torch (it doesn't take long to dry them this way). Ran fine after I torched them.

95R2-89TII Ground Zero,

I understand exactly what you mean. In the 4+ years I've owned my FD, it's spent more time off the road than on it. At least 5 times a year I go though my "pissed off" mode where I say I'm going to get rid of it for something else...

There are a few things that keep me coming back:

* It's paid for... Nice not having that car payment.
* Even dirty with paint chips, it's the kind of car that still demands attention. There are so few of them around.
* In my case, I'm in the process of building a house, so I can't go out an get a new car.

I fight the urge all the time to not sell the car and then pick up a used NSX or Viper. It's a love/hate type thing. There is nothing better than when it's running, and there is nothing worse than when there are problems.

Do what you need to do. Life's too short to be unhappy and/or pissed off all the time.

Finally, someone who understands me. I will say that I'm not going to do anything out of pure emotion. So I don't know what I'll end up doing still.

As for the 7 itself. GZ91RX7 was over at my house today, and I got it going strong again. Obviously when I started it there was a huge plume of smoke outta the pipe, but that's just the gas burning off the cold starts. I'll keep you updated on how it goes from here on out. I took it for a run today too, and it pulled like I remember it.

That's cool. I'm sure I'll have plenty of kills this summer. As soon as I get my liscense back....damn cops. Anyway, all it takes is time man. You kinda kept me levelheaded when I was pissed off about the FD. So naturally....I would do the same. We'll figure out a way to get the FC to Michigan.....don't worry about it yet. We have a week to get everything in order. Look out California.....here we come.
