Old Gen Cluster in 96+FD

Quick question for those who own a 96+FD that has the cluster with the OEM boost gauge. Has anyone adverted back to the previous generation cluster that uses the oil temp/oil pressure gauges? If so, was it plug and play or did you need to do anything special to get the oil pressure gauge to work? Doesn't matter if it is an OEM or aftermarket cluster.

We have written how to install the 99+ clusters in our 93-95FDs but I need to know if the reverse is possible for an overseas client. Thank you in advance.

I have a 96 FD and it has no boost gauge in the cluster. It has the green backlight and the slightly changed cluster design with the oil pressure gauge. So I guess it should be possible to put a 92-95 cluster in a 96 FD. And quite frankly I think they introduced the boost gauge with the 99 models.

Thanks for the help guys. I imagine that you can splice the oil pressure wire from the ECU into the harness before plugging it into the cluster, hence swamping basically the boost wire for the oil pressure.
