okay, its my turn for a "not so ghetto, ghetto mod"

step aside ronKmiller and damian or is it damien.?? i was walking around in autozone today and noticed some energy suspension bushings for sway bars. i thought to self, "self would those work on the rx7?" sure enough, i didnt reply.
i will be trying a few different sizes to see if they fit. please inform me of the size of the rear sway bar so then i dont have to trial and error three sets. this could help rid the rubber bushing that are all crappy on the sway bars for less than 16 bucks. i think it might be worth it. over time i plan on making my own bushing everywhere since i cant stand the price for a bushing set. ill keep everyone informed and if someone already did this then i am not cool, and apologize
kris
forgot to add that the bushings have the little bleeder type valve on them so they can be lubed(you said lube) periodically. i dont know if that part will work, but just the bushing itself should no prob

Hey Kris - look at the positive side: at least you're not talking to yourself walking around in Autozone! (j/k)

Keep on "ghettoing"., and don't let 'em grind you down....

This isn't really a Performance mod, but it certainly falls in the ghetto category.

For those of you with a rear hatch that won't stay up: Don't waste money on expensive replacemant supports. Go out to your local hardare store. Find some 1/2 inch (outside measurement) 3 sided aluminum channel. Fully open the hatch, and measure the length of the exposed piston on the support. Cut a piece of the aluminum to that length. Now when you open the hatch, just slide it in. Voila!! Now you have a hatch that will stay open, and it cost you about a dollar.

To modify your new hatch support, stick a piece of velcro on the back so that you can simply stick it to your carpet when not in use.

Hey, how come Ron Miller's avatar is a picture of Saddam with no mustashe????

Dood - that IS ghetto, what's wrong with a wood dowel instead? (You can get a new gas spring at Pep Boys for $29.00.) Remember, it can't "look" ghetto.

BTW, that is the Iraqi "Dis-information" Minister, not Saddam.

Won't be long now Saddam, buh bye........

The channel aluminum will wrap around the piston on 3 sides, and will stay on better than a wooden dowel. For extra bling, you could even polish it......ooooohhhh baby!!

"Dis-information" has no place on this forum!! hahaha
