ok trying to decide between

BNR stage 3 or an Apexi rx-6 turbo, both are basically the same price. Car is used for raod racing. Let the debate begin.

I still like the twins better. The quick spool up would make getting through the S'es at Lime Rock that much nicer.

For road racing, I think a quick spooling single would be better, here's why:

1) You are never going to be below the spool range of a smaller single. Even through Buttonwillow's hairpins, I was still quite a bit above 3000 rpm in 2nd.

2) The stock twins run so much hotter than a single, this is important when you are boosting for 20 minutes or more at a time. I can tell you that driving the twins on the street is NOTHING compared to tracking them as far as heat goes....

s4play: You should talk to MaxCooper, he tracks his car a lot and has the Apexi RX6.

BTW, the comments above do NOT apply, IMO, to the larger single turbos, which are too laggy and come on too hard for control coming out of a corner.

I hear you I was running about 110 C at Pocono with an upgraded rad and intercooler, pulled over at that point.

What type of power can I expect from the single with a:
DP
street port
intake
Apexi PFC
M2 intercooler.

You will need a midpipe/hi-flow cat and a cat-back exhaust to take advantage of the streetport and single.

Most of the numbers I've seen for the Apexi RX6 are around 375 to 400 rwhp at 15 psi w/midpipe. More importantly, the torque curve is very flat and wide. Apparently, the XS T04E is also a nice quick spooling turbo with about the same power output but for less cost.

First of all a Single turbo will lower Engine temps ALOT! Also the BNR twins are suspect when it comes to reliability. You will be happier with the Single turbo but the Bad part is its a bit more expensive.
