Barban is right. As far as absolute peak power, you'd likely have a bit more power with porting the wastegate. But to save yourself a lot of time and money, you could use one of my restrictor plates ... if nothing else, just temporarily until you have the time and money to do the wastegate. However ...

I am now down to one set of plates. Once they're gone I will not make another batch of them unless someone "orders" (meaning wants) a set. Turn around time ... approximately 2 to 3 weeks on the new batch. Turn around time on the last set ... 1 day.
