Red face OK - How much should I ask for mine?

Hoping to get some advice on the value of my beloved RX... It just sits in the garage except for the occasional date night with the wife... I'm 45 with two kids [9 and 11] and just bought an M3 convertible...so its time...Its a 93 touring silver with 75k...I planned on maybe getting into autocrossing or at least taking a track course or two at Summit Point but just don't have the time...Its in excellent condition, a ding here and there but overall paint is very shiny and garage kept...I have I guess moderate? mods done to it: Tri-point Engineering CAI, Ebay aluminum intake pipes with K@N filters, ACT street clutch, SRmotorsports lightened flywheel, Peter Farell Purple ECU, Tokico 5 ways/Tein springs, staggered 18 in. wheels with Kumho ASX tires [very good tread remaining], Racing Beat catback, Down pipe, Racing Beat rear spoiler, AND ALSO REAR SEATS imported from across the pond...I cut off about 1/2-3/4 in. from the shifter...thats all I can think of right now... I did have to replace the left fender and front bumper a few years ago[spun coming off cloverleaf] but repair looks great...I'll post pics as soon as I figure out how[not that bright]...Oh I do have Purple Racing stripes down the middle [vinyl] and purple brakes...What can I say? Huge Raven fan...sorry for the long post...

I think you would get more buyers if the exterior was changed to stock. It's too unique at the moment.

I'd look through the marketplace on here and autotrader for a value.

Yea the stripes and everything ravens related must go.

Pics of the engine bay and the repairs would help.

As stated above, lose the stripes, refit stock tails if you still have them. Otherwise it looks good

Is that the racing beat spoiler? I like it!

Looks great but agree that the stripes and tails need to go. I'd say 15-16k start

Red face

Just woke up...thanks for the info...forgot to mention Greddy SMIC but no sealed ducting into it...all Ravens/purple stuff should be easily removed... also I relocated Optima red battery to hatch... I guess I have to wrap my head around REMOVING PURPLE, kind of against my religion!

Thats a $9-10k car in current form. Put factory tail lights back on, lose the racing stripes and go back to the factory rims and you could probalby get $12-13k for it if you are patient.

Wow - DJ knows what he is talking about on prices, I was thinking it might sit for a while if it had stock exterior at $10K, but I would trust his gauge.

Its a nice car FD's just dont seem like they are selling like they used too.

Those stripes are likely to be the most expensive mod you have ever made. I hope they were done very recently because the covered area will be of a slightly different hue when your remove them due to less UV fading - and you will have to repaint 4 panels.

If you keep them, I would discount significantly to sell in a reasonable time frame - say, $10k or so.

And definitely lose those tail lights.

Really? I watch Fl closely since it is close and have seen many cars sit. Sure the cars with $10K single conversions, $5K in wheels and beautiful paint sell quickly at $15K but everything else seems to languish.

Maybe you see a lot of sales that dont get posted here or auto trader, ebay etc. since you are local. Not arguing just not my experience.

Well I backed into my brother in-laws truck[1-2 mph] and left tail broke... thats why I went aftermarket...I know its not JDM or genuine Mazda, but I always liked them against the silver...Ido appreciate the feedback though...the vinyl stripes are only 1 1/2 years old and the car spends 98% of the time in the garage so I think I'll be ok in regards to stripe shadows after removal... its interesting to hear the wide variety of values given... I thought that its overall clean condition coupled with the rather unique rear seats would get a positive nod for valuation... I've been gone from the forum for a while but seem to recall the rear seats being a hot item?

I agree with the above. Remove the rims and go back to oem, remove the racing stripes, and put some used oem tail lights they sell for cheap on ebay. Doing all those things will significantly increase the value. With rare rear seats in there too, assuming everything else is in great shape and no leaks, you should be able to get $14-15K for it.

Not to be negative or anything, but I honestly dont think the car will sell for anywhere near $15K because of the economy. You may even have to settle for $10K or so which wouldn't be worth it so i'd say keep the car.

you know I don't mind the stripe so much it's the overall package that I dont like. As you know most people buy something because they like how it looks, the sad part is functionality takes a back seat. So even if you car is clean (which it looks to be) and well taken care of many people might skip it becasue it just isn't their style.

So IMO you have to make your car more appealing to the mass public while spending the least amount of cash. As others have said those tailights have to go (PM Fritz Flynn he *may* have something for you in that department or check continoulsy on the for sale section here). That turbo badge has to take a hike, as well as the purple brakes, and the decal in the windshield. The way I would go about pricing is to check current listings (doesn't have to be local as FDs are hard to find) and wage off those. Good luck

Like everybody has mentioned, remove the vinyl get some stock tails on there rims you can keep, with all the mods you mentioned you should be able to sell that $15,000 to $16,000.

Looks to be very clean...
