Is it OK? (cold startup)
Hi!
I have like 1000 miles on rebuilt engine. Everything works fine and car starts like a champ all the time, but now in cold mornings(20F) I have to turn it for about 4-5 seconds, then I hear big "POP" and it starts.
Is it common or something I need to look at? At good temperatures it starts nicely.

maybe you have unburnt gas in your exhaust system, and now that it has gotten cold out it doesn't evaporate as fast and when you hit the key.... pow!
what mods do you have?
does it do it if you just turn the key to the on position or only when you try to crank it?

i think it's probably ok. sounds like it's having trouble igniting the fuel which would thus produce a larger pop sound than normal if it's been cranking for 4-5 seconds.
How new are the plugs, plug wires, etc?
