Oil Temp Sensor Location

Everyone. I done some searching on the forums and I am getting mixed messages on where to install a oil temp sensor. Some say Oil pan but temps might not be accurate. And some say next to oil filter housing. Hell that would be hard to get to. Anyways. Since your all 13B guru's, what location is best? Thanks

Different sender locations will give different readings. You have to decide where you want it taken.

My sender replaces the oil drain plug. Simple to install. Unscrew the oem plug, and screw in the replacement. Nothing could be easier than that. I have been using this location for 10 years with no problems.

I put one at the oil filter pedestal, in the banjo bolt (which receives return oil from the cooler). Works great.

GReddy and possibly others offer an adaptor for the oil filter pedestal with sensor bungs.

Pedestal and oil pan are both good location, or if you have an aftermarket cooler kit, you can get one of those -10AN to -10AN fitting with a 1/8" NPT port and put it before you first cooler.
