oil spots in the garage

ive been noticing some oil spots from my FD in the garage, it only happens when i let the car sit over night. if i go some where for a few hours there is no oil and im not losing oil form the engine. ive checked that. but im thinking that its coming from old oil form the last owner that was caked on the engine subframe. because the oil looks old and feels old. and i just had an oil change a couple months ago with only about 200 miles on it. any help would be great.

put it on a lift and look underneath it you can usually tell where it is coming from.

what a useless post

this post is trash!!!

This post is trash because you don't even ask a question but in the end you some how manage to answer your own concern.

If you want to see where the oil is dripping from, figure out where it is dripping in relation to the car.

Then, once you think you have an idea, get some towels and de-greaser and clean up the bottom of your car (you should have done this already). Why would it matter if the previous owner had the car while it was leaking or if you had it while it is leaking, a leak is a leak.

I am assuming you do not do your own oil changes otherwise you probably would have already looked at the undercarriage of your car and had at least a clue as to the source of your leak.

Common places to look are... your turbos, check the primary and the secondary (the secondary tends to be more prone to oil leaks than the primary in my experience) if your not sure which is the primary or secondary, the secondary is located closest to the fire wall. If your not sure what a fire wall is, the fire wall is the metal wall the separates the engine bay from the cabin... the cabin is the space you sit in.

Also, check your OMP --- I've seen a few of these leak.

Check your oil pan, these are very common culprits of oil leaks due to a poor design.
