oil return line leak or bad turbos?

I noticed recently that when I drive WOT at high rpm's, there seems to be an oil leak of some kind near the turbos. It was brought to my attention when I was driving quite fast one day, and while sitting in gridlock the next day, I saw smoke from excess oil dripping on my cat. I freaked out thinking that something was burning in the engine bay. I keep the driving and rpm's down for a few days after and checked under the car. There didn't seem to be any oil drips on my undercarriage, unlike the time I checked after driving fast. A few weeks later I ended up flooring it again, and sure enough there were a few drips hanging off the undercarriage.

Do these symptoms sound more like a leak at the return lines, or are these signs of a bad turbo? My thoughts are that with the higher pressures while driving fast, a loose connection at the return lines would leak more oil. I don't know a lot about turbo's but would think that if the turbo's were bad they would burn oil, as opposed to spit oil out... Any help would be great. Thanks!

BTW, The oil leak is not excessive, meaning there was enough oil to leaking to create little teardrops of oil hanging off the undercarriage, but I never have a puddle of oil on the ground...

Sounds like a leak but I am not for sure where it is coming from dew to it being on your cat after a hard dive.

I could be wrong though so here is a bump.

The reason it was dripping onto my cat seemed to be because at high speed (100 +), the wind was blowing the oil back and collecting above the cat, where later on it would drip down. That's my theory anyway.

I had a simular problem. In my case it was the banjo bolts at the oil lines. Tightening them down did not fix the problem, had to replace the washers.

Problem solved.

You should be able to get to them without taking off the turbos. I did it from the top with an extention.

Clean up the oily area, drive it a bit, and find where it is leaking from.

I'm beginning to think that the leaks is because of a loose connection. Thanks guys, when I get some time I'll try and poke my head down in there. I'll update the post when I have...

Spray everything down with carb cleaner then go take a drive and find the leak closest to the front of the car.
