1.3 liter - you most certainly did not lose a motor due to inefficient burning of synthetic motor oil.....

My engine torn down at 85k was cleaner than most that my builder works on...I ran Mobil 1 for the last 30k miles on the motor and am pretty sure the previous owner did as well. I've never seen A SINGLE CASE of any one on this forum with a blown motor due to running synthetic....saying yours did with no evidence to back it up is hardly a convincing argument.

click on the "20 facts" page and check out the section about the "resistance to burn off" tab

What does that have to do with a combustion cycle? That's just talking about dealing with extreme oil temps, not the oil physically burning....

I'd just like to interject- there was a thread that made the decision for me regarding types of oils. If i'm not mistaken they went down a list of several oils dinosaur and synthetic and listed the ash statistics. Some of the synthetics burned as well or better than their fossil counterparts.

Get a new sender if its bugging you, like stated before thats most likely the only thing wrong. Ever since I bought my car my oil pressure gauge acts like a tachometer when cold, then just reads 0 when the car is at operating temps. A while ago I looked into buying one and I think they are like 40-70 dollars, but I decided I didn't really care enough to replace it. I read that the oil delivery system on these cars is pretty robust.
