Call Ray at Malloy. Cheapest you'll get is from him. Think it's $80 as listed above. Change it out and don't worry about it ever again. Just make sure when you install it you put some dielectric grease in the terminal for a good clean connection.

I've always seen dielectric grease as an insulator and a sealant and not a conductive facilitator. Because the oil filter is above the sending unit, and the filter can make a mess when removing it (or if your pedestal o rings are toast) it will assist in keeping the connection clean.
But I suppose you learn something new everyday. The only places I use the grease is plugs and connections I want to keep clean (like grounds!)
