Oil Pressure Gauge Question

Ok, obviously the stock oil pressure gauge blows goats, mine bounces around like an 18 yr old w/ fake breasts falling face first on a trampoline covered in baby oil. My question, is the gauge bad or is it a sending unit problem? I do intend on going mechanical soon, but money's tight, and I'm lookin for a quick fix.... clean connection points? rewire? or is the gauge itself poop? Thanx ya'll

Old question and as you can tell, often asked. It's 99.999999999999% sure to be the sending unit; cost is about $100 plus install.

I have cut two of these senders apart to investage how they work/fail. And I have been able to, at least temporarily, improve the last one's behavior for a few months. Not hard and I indended a DIY write-up until the fix didn't last. I photos and notes if you want to try; PM me.
