Oil Pressure gauge Install help?

I searched the forums and didn't find anything in the FAQ section. Anyways, I bought an Autometer Oil Pressure gauge, never installed one. Anyone have a good write up or directions on what to do? Sorry for any inconvenience I cause. I'd really appreciate it, thanks.

You need to figure out where you are going to install the sensor first. IMO, an aftermarket oil pressure gauge is pointless since the stock one works just fine.

However, you can look at something like this for a sensor install location:

Well, you get a better reading from an aftermarket one than the stock one...The Oil Pressure gauge is pretty important to help determine some problems, figured I'd get myself a better reading. Whats the best place to install the sensor?

I would assume that you have a boost and water temp gauges already, those would be the first ones to put in. As for oil pressure, are you keeping the stock one? If not you can use the stock location. If you are keeping it then check out the respeed oil filter base as suggested.

Can't hardly blame the guy for wanting to replace the stock gauge/sensor since the stock sending unit fails so easily.

My SPA Oil P. sending unit was 1/8 NPT and no way way it going in the oil pedestal base. the stock oil sending unit has an adaptor which I tapped to the 1/8 NPT; quite easy really. I had no luck finding ready made adaptors.

There are some really good write-ups on the Forum for removing/replacing stock gauges.
