Oil Pedastal install

I was looking at getting the Greddy adaptor for oil pressure sender install. Then I noticed that FC3S.org is coming out with new pedastals for the FC and FD, that are pretapped.

How hard is it to remove/install the pedastal?

PVerdieck: I looked at the fc3s.org site, but could only find their FC pedestals. Can you link to where they say the FD pedestals are coming out?

Sorry for the late reply. There wasn't a link, but another post. And then I emailed, and he said soon.

FC3S.org now has them in stock. The first batch of 20 came in. I got mine yesterday. As of last week, the online ordering is hosed for credit cards, so you need to call.

I have Mine also it was a snap to install - I had a minor easily correctable fitment problem b/k the AUTO Bell Housing has an extra bump on it that hit the pedestal but 2 min w/ a carbide cutter in the dremel fixed it right up I will be posting pics in the gallery soon.

Their online CC thing works in the store now, I ordered a RB full exhaust from them Monday and picked it up there yesterday and it worked using my CC. I wish I had an FD I did get one of their polished pedestals for the FC when they did my motor and it fits perfect and looks nice! I looked at their FD pedestals when I was there too and they are NICE units! I never knew that the oil line came out of the pedestal on the FD.

Lemme make sure I got this right. The Greddy adaptor is sandwiched between the stock pedastal and the oil filter, right? That means it crowds the TPS sensor and you can't use the tall MX-6 oil filter like I do.

This aftermarket unit replaces the entire stock pedastal with a new aluminum unit? Does it therefore leave more space for the oil filter?

If I got it right this sounds great!

sounds like it replaced the part of the pedestal that is about the 2 o-rings and is held on by 2 nuts.

how much higher does the surface of the top of the new pedestal site compared to stock? does it increase the height of the oil filter at all? that's the only PIA problem with the Greddy.

by the way, a 10mm stubby wrench works great on that back pedestal nut.

the adapter is, yes, but the relocation kit comes with taps on the base...and puts the filter next to your brake booster

DamonB & alwan16, my understanding is that the fc3s.org pedestal replaces the stock pedestal, instead of sitting in-between the stock pedestal and the oil filter. I just ordered one (thanks for the heads-up PVerdieck), so if no one else pipes up first, I'll measure the thickness compared to the stock pedestal.

They have a version ready to accept AN lines directly, and a version to work with the stock oil line, which terminates with a metric banjo bolt. That said, if you have a Crooked Willow oil cooler kit, I believe that you still want the version of the pedestal that works with the stock oil line. This is because Crooked Willow supplies a metric-AN adapter to go between the pedestal and AN elbow. When my pedestal gets here, I'll double check that too.

And please post some pix when you guys get them in/on. I'm really interested to see the FD3S.org unit. I know that Dave Gibson produces high quality stuff so I'm sure I won't be dissapointed. Thanx in advance. Laterz.

I failed on the install this week. I was trying to use a standard 10mm on the bumperside underneath nut, got nowhere. I can't figure out how in the hell one is supposed to get anywhere near the back one. Thanks a !#@$@#$@# Mazda!.

I measured the height on my fc3s.org pedestal. It's approximately 40.5 mm. I have not measured the height of the stock pedestal-- it's still installed, and I could not quite get a ruler in there. Based on Dave's measurements, however, I will still be able to use the taller Mazda oil filters with the fc3s.org pedestal. That's good news.

Yes there should be no fitment issues with any filters as long as they fit on the stock filter pedestal.

Yes we have. It is available with an AN adapter welded on versus the stock fitting. We are working on a set of SS braided lines as well to offer as a kit for single and dual oil cooler systems.
